Business Digest- 31 May'24
Hey there!
I finally decided to treat myself to a much-needed 10-day holiday. It was time to press pause on the constant hustle and bustle of running my company and just unwind for a bit.
Before the Holiday
But as I shut down my laptop and packed my bags, I couldn't shake off these three nagging fears that every founder probably faces when they step away from work:
Will my company function well without me?
FOMO about all the unread emails and client group chats.
Coming back to a mountain of emails, pending tasks, and 1000 questions.
Managing the Fears
But here's the thing: I didn't let these fears hold me back from enjoying my holiday. Instead, I made a conscious effort to trust my team, delegate responsibilities, and set clear boundaries for myself.
Empowering my team to take ownership was key. I trusted them to handle things in my absence and learn from the mistakes they made.
I let go of the need to constantly check my emails and reminded myself that taking a break is not only okay but essential for my well-being.
The Return
And you know what? When I finally returned to work, I was pleasantly surprised. My company not only survived without me but thrived in my absence. Turns out, empowering my team to take ownership and giving myself permission to disconnect were the best decisions I could have made.
So, if you're feeling hesitant about taking that well-deserved holiday, just remember: your company will be okay without you, your inbox can wait, and you deserve a break every now and then. Trust me, you'll come back feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on whatever challenges come your way!
